We left Cappadocia with a greater appreciation of the unique landscape, and the energetic people who carved out their houses and lived here for so many centuries. In the past few years, the Turkish government has evicted many of the people from the homes they'd carved out of the tufa , and then moved them into nearby towns and villages for their own protection. Once again, the old ways are giving way to the new, hopefully for the better. But Cappodocia remains a true wonder of our world.
