This is the former home of Albert Gallatin (1761 - 1849), Secretary of the Treasurg (1801 - 1814) and also US Minister to France and Great Britain. One of the three rivers forming the Missouri River was named after him by Lewis and Clark. The home is in Fayette County, is located along the Monongahela River and is managed by the National Park Service. The Ranger on site is very knowledgeable, the home is well preserved and there are picnic fascilities available.
