My husband was stationed in BK during 1961-62 part of the 2nd evacuation hospital and I was lucky enough to live there with him at that time and it was a wonderful experience. I took care of a number of children of the officers while there while they went away for R & R. We did some traveling also. There are pics of the housing area on Usareur (I think it's on the number 5 when you call up Bad Kreuznach. I just got back from BK, took lots of pics but none of the housing area.

I was stationed in Bad Kreuznach from 1993-1995. I should have never left. BK is the greatest assignment I have ever had. The friends I had while there were the best I've ever had. The love of my life was from near by Frei-Laubersheim. My first year was spent drinking, (I was a 19 yr old kid in germany give me a break). My second year I fell in love with Sabine and she straightened me out. I then began to experience the culture. I went to all types of fests. The one thing I remember is when they had a bbq at her house and they cooked in the ground. That was great. I love germany and I love german people. They should have never closed BK. I hope to get back there someday.

In Dec. 1973, I was at the: US 56th General Hosp., in Bad Kreuznach. My son was born there. I am a US Citizen; that was in the USA Army, stationed in Baumholder back then. But Bad Kreuznach is a very nice town. I couldn't believe how big the train station was. WOW! That is the 1st train I have ever rode in my life. It sure moved very..........quickly!!!! I enjoyed my tour of duty over there though.
