Well today is departure day, but yesterday was a trip around the island. We left early and went through the lava fields to the tropics on the east side of the island, stopping in Hilo at the farmer's market and going on through the scenic route through the tropical rainforest with its lush vegetation and rushing streams. We went to see the Akaka falls, and fully coated ourselves with off before getting on the trails.
