The newest tombs in St. Petersburg's oldest chuch are those of the last of Russia's Czars. In 1998, the bones of Nicholas II, his wife, children, and servants, were laid to rest in a small chapel near the entrance to the Cathedral. They were murdered by the Communists in 1918, and were reburied here amidst much controversy.
