Some French beating Vietnamese prisoners and others giving them the water torture treatment. Prisoners at the Hanoi Hilton spent their days and nights in chains. First the Vietnamese, but later the Americans. American prisoners spent years living in uninhabitable and rat-infested cells, enduring the pain and suffering often inflicted upon them by the Vietnamese guards. With the end of the war and the release of the POWs, many finally told their stories about life as a prisoner in Vietnam.
