2003 was the 100th anniversary of the first TdF and my first visit to it, although I have watched it for many years on TV.

The stage that I saw was the one between Troyes and Nevers and was the fifth one in this years event. One of my great impressions about it was that after the crowd dispersed there was very little litter evident - a great contrast to what would have happened to a similar event in the UK.
