In August 2005 I backpacked for five nights and six days in Glacier covering about 52 miles of some of the most amazing mountain scenery in America. Going from Bowman Lake to Many Glacier, nights were spent at Bowman Lake Head, Lake Francis, Kootenai Lakes, Fifty Mountain, and Granite Park. Along the way wildlife could be spotted, mostly from a distance. Grizzlies grazing on slopes, moose eating in a lake, mountain goats perched high on cliffs, and even a bighorn as we drove out of the park all added to experience. Enjoy these photos ... (more)
