The Kawarau River is featured in The Fellowship of the Ring as the River Anduin. Of course, a number of OTHER rivers in NZ also bear this distinction, but this view is so close to the movie it's instantly familiar. The picture was taken from the road into Chard Farm Winery, upstream of AJ Hackett's Kawarau Bridge Bungee (first bungee jump in the world!)
