The balloons at EAA were part of the Kidventure area and were giving Young Eagles teathered flights on calm mornings. I was a crew member for the balloons and was " balast " when they changed passengers. It was lots of fun but it did limit the pictures I could take.
To launch the balloon is spread out on the ground and 2 people hold the mouth open while a fan fills it with air. When it is full the pilot heats the air and the balloon stands up and pulls up the basket. Then it is ready for flight. Thank You Kathy and David
