The balloons at EAA were part of the Kidventure area and were giving Young Eagles teathered flights on calm mornings. I was a crew member for the balloons and was " balast " when they changed passengers. It was lots of fun but it did limit the pictures I could take.

To launch the balloon is spread out on the ground and 2 people hold the mouth open while a fan fills it with air. When it is full the pilot heats the air and the balloon stands up and pulls up the basket. Then it is ready for flight.
