I have seen a 3-dimensional toy model comparing the cities of New York and Tokyo, and the amazing thing was that contrary to stereotypes, New York had by far the most number of skyscapers. By contrast, Tokyo is more kind of low-rise, with occasional outbursts of super-tall buildings. That said, one thing I enjoy doing in Tokyo is photographing Japanese buildings -- this one here is on the banks of the Sumida River (隅田川) at Asakusa.
