Another feature of "Scandinavian style", or whatever you want to call it, is the practise of painting their buildings a range of bright colours. One house will be red, the next one blue, the next one yellow, and so on. I saw it in Iceland too -- it makes the Scandinavian cities and towns especially beautiful on summer days such as this one.
