Regina Armoury incl stained glass

This journal features the Regina Armouries (1928) at 1600 Elphinstone Street. I was not able to find much history on the building itself, but this link gives a detailed history of 16 Service Battalion: http://www.army.forces.gc.ca/16Service_battalion/16svc_History.htm

Regina Armouries
I spent many years at the Armouries, leaving many years ago. I have been back since the stained glass was placed. This adds more history to an already history rich environment. Nice to see these pics on the net, rattles many good memories in my mind.

I have worked at the armouries for 4 years with Cadets, I have walked passed each of the stainglass windows and plaques that line the walls many times without really stopping to take a good look at them. Next time I find myself wandering around the balcony at 2:00 in the morning I will be sure to actually stop and take a closer look at them.

I worked in this building for 3 yrs. It's interior and exterior beauty always intrigued me. It is beautiful to see the sunlight cast it rays down onto the parade square floor. The design allows the light cast its rays and make the main floor feel light and airy yet you feel a sense of pride and wonder about all the military men and women that have walked these floors.

I like the way you concentrated on the details in little sections of the windows. I'll bet there are a good many Reserve personnel who use that armoury regularly who haven't noticed these special features.
