Unravelling the Beauty of Ipoh

Trying to break free from stereotypes... Ipoh is more than just dim sums and taugeh chicken.. more than just sam poh caves and kek lok caves... explored lesser known beauties like Mirror Lake (tasik Cermin) and Gunung Lang.. savored some of the special curry mee, Hor hees, wan ton mee and the 'wan tau long's of Ipoh (food is meant to be enjoyed ..not photographed.so sorry folks. u need to be here to enjoy).. the last bastion of the old school hawker food that after another generation or two will be completely replaced by the ubiquitous fast food.. Here's a gist of what the group witnessed on a day trip to the sleepy town of Ipoh.. First of hopefully many more collaboration with the Tom's Jalan Jalan Gang from KL

Ipoh
Wow, The Explorers, I have been to Ipoh a few times, beside the usual sightseeing, I have never come across any where as nice as this Tasik Cermin & Gunung Lang. Thank you for sharing ! I will be there in 2 weeks time and would like to visit these place, but would very much appreciate, if you could kindly provide me with the information on how to reach Tasik Cermin & Gunung Lang. Again, thank you for sharing !

WOW
What a treat. Jon - As you know, nature photography isn't my passion or my strong suit ;o) but I liked many pic in this journal. I recognized & enjoyed, as always, your sharp wit in most of the captions ;o) I also suspect that the flower pix at the end are yours? Amazing as usual. I liked the 'fruits of labor' & have saved that one to my screen saver folder ... The 'stand out' one in particular is very good.. I am passing that one on to Carol ;o) I also liked the 'pseudo' pic, all of the reflections pix, the food pix, the the 'serenity' pic because it was framed with some foliage in the foreground, something I often try to do to give perspective ;o) Again, bravo to you all.... And Jon - I do hope we can finally have that weekend trip to Ipoh when I'm in Penang this winter. As usual, I'll be shooting temples & heritage buildings LOL

Immaculate! Beautiful Lakes!
Immaculate is the word I would describe Tasik Cermin and the rest of the lakes around the area. I would not name one of the lake as the false Tasik Cermin, because it is not false in every sense.
