Scotland - Ayr, Loch Lomond, Arygll
A wee tour roon aboot Scotland. I go home to Scotland once a year. Whenever I stay in Glasgow, I like to take day trips by train. It's a novelty travelling by train! From the Glasgow Central Station you can take the train to the coastal town of Ayr, a favourite spot for Glasgwegians and tourists alike. You can take the bus, or walk, out to Alloway and visit the Rabbie Burns Centre. It's also exciting to rent a car. Especially if you're not used to driving on the other side of the road. Oh yes! Butterflies will be floating around in your stomach as you inhale deeply and try to squeeze your way through narrow roads. Loch Lomond is a high on the list of spots to visit. Continue on the road and follow the signs to Inverary, a lovely wee town where you can visit the castle, buy whisky, admire the scenery, check out the Jail and the Maritime Museum. From Inverary you can drive to Oban which is a beautiful and stunning port from where the ferries will whisk you away to islands such as Mull and Iona. Just south of Oban you'll find the Atlantic Bridge which takes you over to the Isle of Seil. Single lane roads abound in this part of Scotland, but just breathe in, and keep going. For a nice relaxing evening check out Portsonachan on the banks of idyllic Loch Awe where good food awaits, live music too, on many a night. Have a nice wee tour of Scotland!
