Chromioum Plant
Recreation in Baltimore picture - What would otherwise be prime waterfront real-estate, this is one of the largest Superfund sites in the country. This flat penunsilla used to be the site of a chemical plant that made Chromium, the stuff they used to put on car bumpers to make them shiny. The cleanup process went on for over twenty years. It's been capped to prevent any more toxic chemicals from leaking into the bay, but nothing can be built here for decades to come.
