Korcula, like neighboring Hvar, is a long narrow island off Croatia's Dalmatian Coast. For much of its history, it was ruled by Venice. Today it is home to one of the most charming walled cities in Europe -- Korcula Town, which sits on the Northeast tip of the island, hugging a small peninsula jutting into the Adriatic Sea.
