Dubrovnik has long been known for its distinctive red tile roofs. The Yugoslav attack on the city punched holes in two out of three of them. Over the last decade, more than a half million replacement tiles have been produced. In this photo the new tiles are easily spotted -- they are brick red, and do not match the more subdued shades of the originals. But at least the old town's houses are now protected from weather damage.
