The Corinth Canal, a four mile shortcut through, instead of around, Greece's Peloponnese, was originally designed by the Roman Emperor Nero in 67 A.D. but it was not completed until 1893. Now antiquated, the canal serves small freighters and pleasure craft such as our own.
