Stansbury Island is a chain of small mountains that juts into the south end of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. This summer, my brother and I drove out and climbed Castle Rock on the island. Spring turned out to be the perfect time for the hike. A lush carpet of grass sprouted between the rocks all over the island. As we crested the highest ridgeline and looked out across our surroundings, I felt more like I was in the Mediterranean than Utah.
