Historic Old Town is a wonderful area of history hidden near the center of modern Albuquerque. Settled in 1793, Old Town Albuquerque. Now a historic zone, it looks much like it did centuries ago. Activities still center around the picturesque plaza.

The first building erected was the church, San Felipe de Neri. This church is still standing on its original site and remains the center of life in Old Town. Shops and government offices, along with homes of settlers were built around the plaza.
