Living in Belgium, the heart of Europe, I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to visit hundreds of charming old places in my country and even in neighbouring countries, just for one day or even only a couple of hours. This article is about the little town Thorn, situated in a lost corner of Limburg (Holland, not to be mixed up with Limburg Belgium!), just across the frontier. As it is only about 70 kilometers away from my place, I made an afternoon trip to this charming village (or town?) on August 27th, a rather grey and colourless day. So maybe the impressive contrasts between the entirely white village, the brown streets and the green landscape don't show on these pictures. I'll certainly go there again on a sunny summer/winter day.
