It is on the main square and faces the Roman Catholic Big Church. It had a bulbous cupola at the top but it was badly damaged in an earthquake of 1911 and had to be removed. It was replaced with its present lotus-shaped cupola. During the Second World War the building was damaged. The building was finally restored and turned into a conference center in the 1970&#39;s. </div></nolayer></noembed>
