Engadin/St. Moritz Oct 2005

Hello Fodorites,

this is a trip report of my recent vacation in the Engadin, Switzerland. Please keep in mind that my native tongue is German and forgive the mistakes I made. The reason for writing such a trip report is - beside providing information - that during the vacation I tend to appreciate not enough what I see and experience. I have to "re-live" the vacation with that writing - and working on the photos.

The first week in Sept. we'll be going to Switzerland for our eighth time but our first in the Engadine. We're staying in Sils Maria and plan a day in Soglio. Because of new health problems will be doing mostly photography rather than hiking. Your photos were lovely but your text was also very helpful. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this Ingo. I really enjoyed my trip through the Engadin this morning. Your room in St.Moritz reminds me of mine in Zuoz. The walls have eyes. Loved the photos of Soglio.

The Best!
Well, I *thought* I had been to the Engadin, but it doesn't seem like the same place where you took all these wonderful pictures!! My own pictures and even my memories are shabby compared to these. I loved seeing the mountains above St Moritz covered with snow.

The picture of the nut cake was just plain cruel!

Too Good!
I had to print out your report because I couldn't enjoy it on the computer screen -- it came to six pages, and it was six pages of pure delight! I don't know which is better -- the descriptions of the food or the land! Once more, you've made me hunger for the Engadin!! What am I gonna do?? I have to come back later to enjoy the photos!
