Some pictures of the Viva Tangerine sent to me via email from Xanaduranch an expat who lives closeby. I will be visitng the resort on November 16th and meeting up with Xanaduranch and his wife. More pictures to follow as they are available. More pic's sent by manager of operations included.

not so happy
WE'VE JUST RETURNED MAY 1, WE FOUND THE RESORT TO BE CLEAN AND FOOD OK. DRINKS FLOW NO STOP. BUT.... WE RAN INTO A PROBLEM WITH THERE WEREN'T ALOT OF AMERICAS THERE WHEN WE WERE AND IT WAS HARD BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T SPEAK TO MANY PEOPLE. MOST OF THE STAFF DIDN'T UNDERSTAND ENLISH. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO TOWN WITH AND ENLISH SPEAKING TAXI DRIVER ALSO. WE PAYED FOR A SUPOIR OCEAN VIEW ROOM GOT A ROOM WITH TWO DOUBLE BEDS AND NOT MUCH VIEW SO I WOULDN'T PAY EXTRA FOR THOSE ROOMS. REQUEST THE KING OCEAN VIEW ROOM THEY ARE THE BEST ROOMS.

Failed Booking
We were really looking forward to going to the Viva Tangerine this October, however the tour operator we booked with made a mistake by saying our 12 yr old son could share a room with us and our 6 yr old and they have cancelled the booking!! Can anyone tell me if they have taken 2 kids with them and shared a room please? Many thanks, Lisa.

Viva Tangerine
I was recently in Viva Tangerine (Feb.17-24th) and it was amazing!! Everyone was very nice, the resort was great! The smell was not that bad at all, only when it rained and only in certain areas. The food was great, italian and mexican restaurants were awesome! Everything was so good! But just a warning for any girls going, the men will hit on you, and they will not stop! All you'll hear is "oh you are beautiful, beatiful!!" Haha But Dominican, Viva everything was perfect. We're already planning our next trip back! I emailed the resort regarding the sewer propblem and Diego assured me the problem has been solved - food beverages are constantly controlled and the participate in the "Crystal America quality control program " We're going in March and I'm being optimistic and hoping this will be as good as some comments I've read.

Information on Viva Tangerine
We're a family of 15 traveling to the Viva Tangerine in April....has anyone been there recently? (Mid-February) I'm concerned about the sewage problem. My travel agent says it's been repaired but who knows? Also is the beach really that rough? Is it blue? How is the food? Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Hi, we are booked at Viva Tangerine from March 2 - 9. All of your comments seem very good, however, on Debbie's there have been some very negative reviews regarding strong sewage smell, people getting sick and the food not to par. These complaints seem to center around the end of January. Our travel agent is assuring us these problems have been fixed. Have you had any comments lately regarding this, we are VERY concerned.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was just at viva tangerine it was soo great, i have no complaint about it. i seeen and heard aboutn other resort but they had no compareison to here. the staff were awsome they treated us like royalty. i would recomend this resort to any one looking for somewere to go on holidays some were warm.

Lets hope that it is all that it has been hyped to be. We have never been to the DR before so we can't compare it to anything.Going first week in Feb so lets hope the weather nice, and the construction is done.

Viva Tangerine
Hi we are going to Viva in April, and we were wondering if anyone had any pictures of the rooms, eating establishments on the resort, etc. The pictures we did see were great but it would be nice to see more in depth pictures.

Hello all. We are leaving for the D.R. Tangerine in Feb for two weeks. We were told that the hotel has balconies. In these pic's it looks like only a few of the units have balconies. Any info?

You guys can get a detailed update of construction and even some completed pictures at www.dr1.com/forums/showthread/t-25649.html (not sure what the one with the great pics is though it's easy to find). I've been trying to post a reply at that site to thank the guys for the updates. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but it seems I don't have the priveleges even though I'm registered now. First time I've ever subscribed to a forum. Any way, check out the site. Great info on Viva Tangerine.
