My wife cuddles a baby wombat in the Wildlife Wonderland at Bass Strait, Victoria. This is a regular Southern wombat. Several curious tourists cuddling the purring creature does traumatize the animal. This one started scratching a biting, and had to be pacified by the keeper before my wife was allowed to hold it again. The solid armor plate on the back of the creature does give a creepy feel.
