The cold and dense mountain air greatly exaggerate the smoke and steam from the twin steam locomotives at the head of the Puffing Billy train. The railway runs from Belgrave to Emerald Lake. It is possible to get to Belgave by train from Melbourne, we opted for the coach tour instead. This was unfortunate, as it allowed us only half an hour on the train, from Belgrave to Menzies Creek.
