I spent a short week in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales Australia in early October of 2003. The mountains get their name from the unusual blue colour caused by light being refracted by eucalypt oil in the air.

I spent the week in a magnificent old Hotel called The Carrington in the town of Katoomba which is centrally located in the mountains. I have included quite a few shots of this grand old hotel that has only been refurbished in the last decade after being virtually abandoned for many years.
