West hall was also named "Royal Study", where Puyi worked, studied and informally met the Japanese and the puppet officials and VIPs. During the early days, especially when Puyi acted as puppet emperor, he studied, worked here and handled "political affairs" everyday. With the Pupper Manchurian State colonized deeper and deeper, Puyi gradually recognized he was the real puppet emperor, and so he seldom came here and even didn't go to Qinmin Building anymore.
