Events in Ottawa picture - ... we shall remember them. Over 130,000 airmen trained in the Commonwealth Air Training Plan in Canada. A quarter of a million Canadians served in the RCAF, and there were 142 Canadian "Aces". More than 10,000 died in Bomber Command: less than 25% survived 30 missions. Here the Lancaster flies over the memorial to more than 800 male and female aircrew who died in World War II but have no known grave. It was dedicated in 1959 by Queen Elizabeth II.
