Here the Royal Canadian Legion Colour Party leads the parade on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of VE Day in May. Canada was one of the major contributors to that victory. With a population of only about 12 million in 1939, by 1944 Canada had a complete army, the world's third largest navy and fourth largest airforce, and 1.1 million men and women in uniform.
