... who marched or were wheeled past the saluting dais and an estimated 25,000 grateful applauding citizens. Serving military personnel, RCMP and cadets also paraded. Two things stand out in my memory: the number of parents who brought their children, and the indomitable veterans who started to sing when the band played "Pack up your Troubles".
