Jared: Dont limit your activity to Ocho Rios - use it as a base maybe, but the island is small, you can travel around to Port Antonio, Montego Bay, Negril etc... if you simply want romantic and peaceful, Port Antonio - e.g. Dragon Bay Resort may be a better choice - there is skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, ballooning, other outdoor sports - there is a polo club in Runaway Bay - between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay... it all depends on what your interest is - you might even be able to get into a cricket game...

Your editorial on Jamaica was quite enlightening. I went October 2000 and stayed at Beaches-Negril. We had a wonderful time! We stayed on the west side the whole time, mainly because it was just 3 females that went. I have Jamaica shots on worldisround.com as well. I thought the people were wonderful, but there is so much poverty. They do get a little crazy selling their wares, but they don't have time to make you a friend when you are walking by, so they have pretty much learned to beg for your money because they think all Americans are rich.

Jared....just chill my boy....if you want exitement and night life, don't pick Jamaica, or maybe try going down to Negril. There will be nightlife on the resorts (if you go all inclusive) but don't expect anything like cancun.
