An ibis atop a tree at the Sydney Botanical Gardens. Despite their elegant looks, these birds are considered a big nuisance, especially in public places, where they raid trash cans and create an unholy mess all over. We actually witnessed this as well, in the Circular Quay. Some of these birds are very bold as well: a couple of them approached us very close while we were enjoying a meal on a park bench, and tried to snatch fries straight off the tray on my lap!
