A classic koala pose. These creatures really cling to the tree, and its amusing to see them scratch themselves using one hind leg, hanging on for dear life with the other three. Most of the koala cuddling centres tend to discourage this activity, as multiple handling by delighted tourists traumatises the animals, due to which they become pensive, and scratch, or even bite. It is illegal to cuddle koalas in Oz nowadays, although a handful of sanctuaries still allow it on a restricted basis.
