A very cute looking group of meerkats at Taronga zoo, Sydney. The one in the immediate foreground shows the animal in its normal pose, while all others in the background are in the 'surveying' pose. In the film 'Beautiful People', an identical type of animal is shown, called the Prairie Dog. These are very curious creatures indeed, and any visitor is inspected with the utmost curiosity, including vile and evil creatures like the deadly cobra. I am not sure whether meerkats are the same as paririe dogs, but they do look identical.
