Most Australian foodstuff is served in jumbo sized portions, hence you cannot really finish all that stuff unless you are really famished. Faced with an excess of chips, we had occasion to feed these seagulls on Circular Quay one evening. They set upon it with some gusto, and the scene was very memorable indeed! Calls of gaaa--ggaaaa at full volume, some hovering in mid air and flying in reverse, catching the chips in mid air as they were thrown! I was unable to feed them and photograph them at the same time, plus my hand was rather oily, yet, this is the best I could do. We were quite a spectacle among the amused bystanders as well!
