I was going to wait to read all your articles before commenting, but the beauty of the photos made me want to comment immediately. You really have an artist's eye for beauty! I enjoyed the pictures in this article! I especially loved these: "the character of a tree", "floating leaves", "glistening fern", "boogie branch", "island weeping", and "suns rays". As for "magnetic view" it makes me want to see the actual photo! I'm sure it is simply AMAZING!

Rafal - that was a really nice comment you made on my article. I will have to scan someof your articles and see if I can find autumn in your neck of the woods. We had our first snow yesterday as well. Winter is approaching!

Truus - thanks for stopping by. If you decide to visit California definetly take the Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1) up the coast. The northern part of california is not to be missed!

gentle - Hawthorne is a street in Portland - there is a lovely park at the end of the street. I also saw a fantastic birding shop on the main strip (if your into that kind of thing). The bald eagle feeding ground is located in Lake Tahoe, California. The black eyed susans - interesting question you arose; the black eyed comes from the center 'eye' apparently - and the susan? It falls in the sunflower family.

These pics are fabulous! The "magnetic view" is really captivating!!! Where is Hawthorne, Oregon? Been to the state several times but never knew of that town.
