In the lagoon off the coast of Venice lies the colourful island of Burano. Once world renown for its quality Venetian lace, now a tourist attraction for its brightly painted buildings no more so than the outrageous Casa Bepi; not easy to find but well worth the effort. Just ask any shop keeper on the main drag for directions. Access is via a tiny, easy to miss lane way between two shops.
