Cuba is a place unlike anywhere I have ever been before. Physcially there are basically no shops or any signs of commercialism, all the cars are either russian or pre 1959 american cars, and the whole country is completely run down. Talking to people who we were able to get to know well it was interesting to get a good perspective on the country´s problems. The government policies, compounded by the effects of the US blockade mean there have been 4 decades of virtually no capital investment in anything other than the tourist ... (more)
