20 Nov - After overnight at Jindabnye, I with other two smart friends started the exiting journey of Main Range Track at 7.02 am from Charlottes Pass. After crossing the freezing Snowy River below Charlottes Pass, the track climbs through alpine herb fields and some snow fields past Hedley Tarn Lookout to Blue Lake Lookout. It then climbs Carruthers Peak which provides spectacular views to the west. It continues along the exposed ridge of the Main Range above Club Lake and Lake Albina until it meets the Summit Walk between Rawsons Pass and Mt Kosciuszko. We reach the peak of Mt Kosci about 12am. After lunch we return and arrived Charlottes Pass via the old road Summit Walk (was closed to public vehicles at 1976) at about 2.30pm. The Returning Summit Walk passes through Seamans Hut, snow gums, heath and herb fields and provides extensive views of the Main Range and Snowy River.
Thredbo Village, 1370m, inside the Mt Kosci National Park area, is a popular skiing spot during winter. However it provides plenty of bushwalking tracks with fascinating view during summer. From valleys into mountains; from golf course to Alpine Ash forest, from Thredbo river to magnificent waterfalls.
