My first time in New York city was in early October of this year. I decided to go for my birthday. I had a great time, and I can/t wait to go back. I stayed in the heart of Greenwich village, with a great view of the city from any direction. While I was in NYC, I ate at the ESPN Zone, Times Square, Hogs and Heffers (the bar the movie Coyote Ugly was based on), and plently of clubs. I would recommend Exit on Friday nights, and the Sound Factory on Saturday. The clubs close at about Noon!
