Nova Bana (population 7,408; total area 6125 hectars, built area 347 hectars) is an ancient town located in SW part of Banska Bystrica (BB) region in Slovakia. It is one of the seven “royal mining free towns“ of the former Upper Hungary (today Slovakia), established by a royal decree of Hungarian king Charles Robert I. of Anjou in 1345.
