In Coober Pedy I bought food for two days. The only problem was drinking water. I wasn&#39;t keen on carrying nine litres of water (at maximum capacity). I researched if there were bores (water wells) along the road. The police said there were. The tourist officer said there were not. As I pedaled from Coober Pedy, with no guarantee of a water supply, I felt like Columbus sailing west in 1492. But unlike Columbus, in case of emergency I could stop a car and ask for water. Luckily, two bores with fresh water on this stretch of the Stuart Highway kept me refreshed. (more on http://bora.dacom.co.kr/~boonstra/aus/page20.htm ) </div></nolayer></noembed>
