Their tragic story has been followed by millions of faithful readers of European tabloid newspapers around the world. And recently a costly mini-series was produced for Italian TV about the story of the Shah and Soraya. The story of her divorce inspired French songwriter Francoise Mallet-Jorris to write ``Je Veux Pleurer Comme Soraya'' (I Want to Cry Like Soraya). A few years before her death she published her memoirs "Palace of Solitude". The beautiful ex-queen of Iran, with her beautiful emerald-green eyes,passed away in her sleep at the age of 69 in Paris, October 25, 2001. A couple days later her only relative alive, her brother, passed away as well, leaving no inheritors to the wealth and estate she left behind.
