Yaroslavl - Kostroma - Uglich. The names don't fall trippingly from the tongue, do they ? Most of us had never heard of these places before, but they are three of the more interesting cities we visited along the Volga River during our Russian Waterways boat trip between St. Petersburg and Moscow.
A lot of history has taken place here. And for all the charm and beauty of the countryside and fantastic art and architecture in the churches and museums and monasteries, we also saw the people.
