"The war in Iraq" [The U.K. '03].

London as we know, is a major site of anti-war protests even if its government is a major partner of the Bush Administration in the war in Iraq.

Hence, it was here last summer when we saw & photographed several protest banners outside the U.K.'s Parliament - the seat of the British government.

Hope you like the pics & this article that's going to be a bit political, controversial, & provocative but hopefully, not offensive. Cheers!:)

Hi friends here in WIS,
Thank you all for the comments, really appreciate them! Actually, I was quite apprehensive of publishing this article & so, I published it as a "personal article" where it won't be seen on public display. But then again, I thought, "Oh what the hell, just publish it publicly & see how it goes."

I surely agree with anonymous, that a little politics is o.k. but not too much of it. And so, this is the only political article I have out of the numerous "U.K. '03" articles I still have to publish. Cheers!!! (But darn, how I wished I saw the swearing that anonymous mentioned, it must've been interesting. After all, the internet is a free world:)

Great Photos
Your photos and commentary are thought provoking, insightful, and much more than the usual travel photos posted here. You should know that inspite of some previous comments, the vast majority of Americans did not and do not support this on going war in Iraq. Also, the majority of Americans did not vote for Mr. Bush. His obsession with Saddam Hussein and his feeble knowledge of the world have cost us all greatly. It's incredibly sad so many lives have been lost in his search for weapons of mass destruction that he so fears and that billions of our tax dollars have gone towards this futile effort. Just remember, his days are numbered.

I agree with those affirming that we can thank to Saddam for the war and not Bush. I wander why all those "anti-war" people did not raised any protest in Baghdad when Saddam was entering to Kuwait or killing his own co-citizens in Kurdistan. Please stick to your camera (you are really better in this than in an excessive use of your PC keyboard) and do not try to make politics in this website. We are trying to do so as well.

War is Hell
Nice Pictures, and mostly good well thought comments. But as someone who has been to Iraq, and actually fought in the war, I can tell you that nobody wants to go to war. Not even Bush. It was the last resort. As for your comment about the majority always being right. The majority of Americans did support the war, and that doesn't mean they are bad, or evil people either. Only that in their mind it was the right thing to do, after nothing else had worked. We gave Sadam a chance to surrender. So you can thank Sadam for the war, not Bush. I don't think anybody ever thought that the Iraqi people are bad, or evil people either. Many Iraqi people personally, and genuinely thanked me for the sacrifices made to free them from Sadam's Regime. I think that the Iraqi people are a beautiful, and friendly people, and I hope that our efforts in their country to free them will help their country become that great nation, that it once was.

Gentlemen, your photography is considerably better than your politics. I would suggest that you're far better off sticking to f-stops and camera angles than espousing personal slants on our government. Listen to Mike.

Beautiful pictures. You won't get many votes for the Democrats by trying to court the "caucsians" with this article laying our your dogma and pictures of protest. Democrats are supposedly non-racists, yet throughout your article you want them to go out of their way to attract the vote of the caucasians. How about a Democratic platform that attracts all people regardless of color of their skin. Cutting taxes and low interest rates are what has got the economy growing again not raising taxes as expoused by the Democrats. Let's hear some ranting about the excesses of Saddam and pictures of the thousands of graves uncovered of people killed and tortured during his reign of terror.
