The authority of the Parliament is exercised by the cabinet, a small group of ministers of the Crown chosen mostly from the leaders of the majority party in the House of Commons.

Inshort, the king or queen really has no power, they're merely a symbol since the "ministers of the Crown" [the cabinet] has the authority.
