In general, the Democrats champions good causes since they are pro-environment at home & abroad (e.g. pro "Kyoto Agreement" which Republican Bush withdrew the U.S.), pro-equality & civil rights, pro-partnership with the world, & etc. The various issues are enumarated in my brother's "Freedom v. Equality" articles & so, I won't mention them here since they're too long Whereas with the Republicans, uni-lateralism, pre-emption & "the right to defend the U.S." even if it means taking the fight in foreign soil is their principle & this goes back even to Reagan's time. Now that's why there are U.S. troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, S.E. Asia, Africa, & who knows where next? *Of course, there are moderate Republicans who favors multi-lateralism with the world & there are Democrats who favors pre-emption. But in general, Republicans are pro-action aka "agression," the Democrats are pro-dialogue with the world
